Project description
The goal the Myrsky [Storm] project  was to create rapid actions for businesses in the themes of green transition, resilience, and digitalization through collaboration among universities of applied sciences. Objective and Tasks: STORM [MYRSKY] - Businesses' Resilience, Green Transition, and Digitalization in Western Finland (REACT ESR) aimed to support companies in the Western Finland region in recovering from the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The project offered micro-learning modules and mentoring to businesses through collaboration among universities of applied sciences, with the goal of enhancing the capabilities, skills, and resilience of companies and their personnel. The project's activities aimed to support the participating companies and their staff in adapting to and taking advantage of changes in their operating environment. Additionally, the project promoted green transition and sustainable development by offering participants micro-learning modules and mentoring on related topics.

The target group of the project included micro and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Western Finland region (Pirkanmaa, South and Central Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Satakunta, and Southwest Finland) that had a need to develop their expertise and business in general to overcome the challenges of the coronavirus crisis. The project also welcomed individuals interested in entrepreneurship and were planning to start a business. The project targeted both company management and personnel. Through the implementation of these rapid actions, companies' resilience improves, and they received support and expertise for renewing their operations. As a result of the project, micro and SMEs will better recognized universities as partners for their development activities, funding applications, and competence development. The project was implemented simultaneously with the same projects in Southern Finland, Eastern Finland, and Lapland. It included joint national sections coordinated by Karelia University of Applied Sciences.

The implementing partners in the Western Finland region were TAMK (coordinator), Centria, Jamk, Novia, SeAMK, SAMK, Turku University of Applied Sciences, and VAMK.
