The evaluation of www.jamk.fi was carried out by Jamk. The website has also been inspected by Regional state administrative agency (AVI) as simplified inspection of selected web pages in Finnish with Salvia evaluation tool in August 2024. This accessibility statement applies to Jamk's main website www.jamk.fi. Jamk's other websites in different domains or subdomains each have their own accessibility statement.

We monitor accessibility issues of the website with, for example, Siteimprove web accessibility tool continuously and do our best to fix any detected issues on the website and its content. We have instructed our content producers to follow accessibility practices and we organize training for our content producers to maintain and improve accessibility on Jamk's websites.

The website largely meets the requirements of the accessibility criteria required.

Some parts of the website are not fully accessible. The key shortcomings in the accessibility of the online service are described below. 

Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.

No data cells assigned to table header

• Inaccessible content and deficiencies: Some pages (10 in total) include forms which use tables. Every header cell in a table should have at least one data cell assigned to it but this is not the case with these new forms which is a problem for screen reader users. We aim to fix this problem as soon as possible.
• Accessibility issue: WCAG 1.3.1 Info and relationships, level A.

Container element is empty

• Inaccessible content and deficiencies: On the page Uutta osaamista ja liiketoimintaa vihreän siirtymän tueksi (in Finnish), the media carousel has a list role but doesn't have the required-owned elements. This may be a problem for users of assistive technology. We aim to fix also this issue as soon as possible. 
• Accessibility issue: WCAG 1.3.1 Info and relationships, level A.

User interface components and navigation must be operable.

Links without a text alternative

• Inaccessible content and deficiencies: On Töihin Jamkiin page (in Finnish) there are links without a text alternative. Open jobs are shown on the page as embedded from a third party's system and unfortunately we are unable to add text alternatives to the open job links. 
• Accessibility issue: WCAG 2.4.4 Link purpose (in context), level A.

Links in the same context with the same text alternative

• Inaccessible content and deficiencies: On some pages (in Finnish) that list Jamk's RDI projects, there are sometimes identical link titles in links related to a single project's pages, if the project has content in more than one place. The identical link title in these cases is typically the project name. We do our best to minimise these cases by instructing our content editors.
• Accessibility issues: WCAG 2.4.4 Link purpose (in context) and 2.4.9 Link purpose (Link only), level A. 

Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted by by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Form field missing a label

• Inaccessible content and deficiencies: There are two contact forms in which the radio button fields do not have a label. We aim to fix this problem soonest.
