Project description

Sustainable
farm in Central Finland -project brings information about scientific research,
innovations and digitalization to farmers. The project aims to increase the
knowledge and skills of farmers in Central Finland in sustainability and
responsibility of farm and food production. The goal of the project is to
improve the profitability and competitiveness of agriculture in Central Finland
and to develop its ability to renew itself. The project activities focus
especially on increasing competence in intelligent solutions of livestock
production, regenerative cultivation and the diversification of field use, without
forgetting the farm management and financial and procurement competence. Improving
cooperation between farms, and well-being of farm entrepreneurs are also
important themes of the project.

The project
organizes information events, webinars, field days and barn days, company
visits and
produces different
kind of
electronic
materials and publications.

The primary
target group of the project are farm entrepreneurs in Central Finland and those
intending to become farm entrepreneurs, as well as employees of farm companies.
The second target group is the stakeholders and partners of farm entrepreneurs.
Beneficiaries are farm entrepreneurs in Central Finland, farm workers and
indirectly further processing companies and society.

The project
will be implemented in the Central Finland region between April 1, 2024 and May
31, 2026, by the Institute of Bioeconomy of Jyväskylä University of Applied
Sciences and ProAgria Central Finland.
