Practice Music School
Find a new hobby or refresh your old musical skills at Jamk Practice Music School!
At our music school you can study playing several different instruments. Singing lessons are also available as group lessons. We accept both beginners and those who have played instrument or singed before. The student must be at least 5 years old, for singing at least 15 years old, and there is no upper age limit.
Teaching is provided by Music Pedagogue Degree Programme students. The length of a weekly lesson is 45 – 60 minutes. The right to study is generally for one year at time, but the duration of the study is affected by the length of the teaching trainee’s training period. The available instrument options also vary depending on the teaching trainees.
We aim to provide you an opportunity to advance and improve your musical skills, whether you are a beginner or more advanced in the field of music. During your studies, you can complete the level performance in accordance with the requirements of the Association of Finnish Music Schools. All lessons are held at the Finnish Music Campus, Pitkäkatu 18 - 22.
We accept as students both beginners and those who have played instrument or singed before.
Tuition fees
The tuition fee in the academic year 2024 - 2025 is €240 (invoiced at the autumn semester and at the spring semester, total €480 for the academic year). Possible level performance and opportunity to participate in music theory classes are included in the fee.
The tuition fee for vocal group lessons in the academic year 2024 - 2025 is €80 per participant (invoiced at the autumn semester and at the spring semester, total €160 for the academic year). The minimum group size must be met. Opportunity to participate in music theory classes is included in the fee.
Instruments that can be applied for, academic year 2024 – 2025
The application period for the academic year 2024 - 2025 has ended and the student selections have been made. There is no entrance exam for the Practice Music School - student selections are made and teaching is organized according to the needs of teaching practice.
Even though the academic year of Harjoitusmusikkiopisto has started, you can apply for a reserve place. If there is a need for students for the instrument you are applying for during the academic year, we can contact you.
