Project description
Circular economy transformation requires collaboration across different sectors. The ARVOA – The Next Chapter of Circular Economy project takes bold new steps towards sustainable consumption and business, considering the needs of different target groups.

Project goals:

1. Develop and agilely test new innovative solutions in national and local (Central Finland, metropolitan area, and archipelago) collaboration networks of companies, associations, and the public sector to promote the product-as-a-service model (e.g., renting and lending) and reuse and resale in the circular economy.

2. Develop intelligent material management and product maintenance for solutions developed through goal 1.

3. Promote systemic change from a linear economy to a circular economy by modeling project results and widely disseminating solutions for use by various organizations in Finland.

4. After the trials, the best practices will be modeled into functional comprehensive solutions and made widely available for open use.

Especially SMEs and micro-enterprises can gain new growth and competitiveness through circular economy trials, models, and methods. Companies may already have business operations based on circular economy principles or a desire to develop in the circular economy. National organizations (e.g., retail chains, retail trade, and library network) serve as important trial and distribution environments for the project's service, rental, and lending activities. Large companies can benefit from the project's trials, e.g., as part of the value chain.

The project is carried out by Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, and Yrkeshögskolan Novia in collaboration with a broad national network consisting of companies, associations, and public sector organizations.
