Project description
The goal of the Digibuusti! project (March 1, 2024 - August 31, 2026) is to develop and enhance the digital skills, digitalization-friendly mindset, and knowledge of the possibilities of digital gaming among the aging rural population. The project also aims to ensure the availability of digital support in all municipalities of Central Finland, thereby increasing equality among residents.

The project's activities aim to reduce the inequality caused by the digitalization of society and prevent the digital exclusion of elderly people living in rural areas. The project organizes various events where participants can, among other things, get acquainted with digital gaming, offers a special gaming course for seniors in rural areas, arranges both remote and on-site information sessions and lectures on current digital topics, activates and supports the region's voluntary digital advisors, and coordinates a regional network of digital supporters. The target group of the project is citizens living in rural areas of Central Finland, particularly those aged 55 and above. The project's area of operation covers the entire region of Central Finland, excluding the urban planning area of Jyväskylä city center. The measures are focused on the remote areas of the region.

Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) is the main implementer of the project, with the Jyväskylä Summer University Association as a co-implementer. The project is funded by the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
