A record number of students graduated from Jamk in 2024

In 2024, Jamk University of Applied Sciences saw the highest number of graduates in its history, with 1,298 bachelor's degrees and 415 master's degrees awarded. Most degree programs surpassed the results of previous years. Additionally, a record 407 individuals completed professional teacher education.

The number of degrees completed by foreign students also increased significantly, corresponding to the rise in international student enrollment at Jamk.

In recent years, Jamk has invested especially in student support and guidance, and streamlined the progress of students' studies by renewing curricula and utilising digitalisation appropriately in student services.

"The highest gratitude for our accomplishments is owed to our dedicated teaching and guidance staff. Teachers not only guide and walk alongside students but also impart their expertise to support each learner in shaping their future, which is evident in our results," states Minna-Maaria Hiekkataipale, Vice Rector for Education.

However, there are challenges and impediments on the path to graduation. The prevailing economic conditions are particularly evident and have consequently impacted the availability of practical training for students.

"A student's graduation may depend on whether they find practical training or not. We would like to see support for this from employers in the area," Hiekkataipale adds.

Jamk University of Applied Sciences offers degree education in ICT, Culture, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, Social Services and Health Care and Technology. In addition, vocational teachers, vocational special needs teachers and guidance counsellors graduate from Jamk's School of Professional Teacher Education.
