The international SmartCHANGE research project has progressed to a stage where, based on experiences from different countries and using artificial intelligence, a web-based tool is being developed for healthcare professionals to guide children and young people towards healthier lifestyles. Children and young people are motivated to change with the help of a mobile application.

The webinar in November 2024 showed how planning has gone in four different countries, Finland, Netherlands, Portugal and Slovenia.

Experts shared their experiences and tips for effective joint planning between different healthcare systems and cultural contexts. Successful cross-border cooperation requires flexibility, clear communication and adaptation to different comfort levels and expertise. The SmartCHANGE project will continue with the prototype piloting of the developed tools in early 2025.

SmartCHANGE uses these co-design insights to develop an AI-based e-health platform to promote preventive health interventions for youth.
