Valtra and Jamk deepen their collaboration - offering project and internship opportunities tailored by Valtra for students

Jamk University of Applied Sciences and tractor manufacturer Valtra are deepening their collaboration. Going forward, Jamk's agrology students will have opportunities based on Valtra's actual needs for project work, internships, and even thesis work. Collaboration during studies can also open up career opportunities on the payroll of an international tractor manufacturer.

With the new partnership, Jamk's agrology students can complete some of their studies on Valtra's assignments. Valtra opens up various opportunities for students to get to know the company's operations and job opportunities during their studies.

"This is a great new opportunity for us to introduce students to our diverse and international business and to find new employees for the industry. Through cooperation, we have a unique opportunity to work with future employees during their studies. In the best case, we can offer some students the opportunity for a career at Valtra at the end of their studies," says Ninnu Kinnunen, HR Business Partner responsible for the project at Valtra.

Earlier it was announced that agrology students will act as guides and brand ambassadors for Valtra's Finnish visitors in 2022. The brand ambassador group, called the Valtra Experience Squad, will start operating in the form of factory and campus visits in the spring of 2022. Now the collaboration is deepened with the opportunities offered to students. The quality of cooperation is strongly influenced by Valtra's business needs, which are closely linked to the megatrends of the bioeconomy industry.

"The bioeconomy is a constantly evolving industry, and for example, expertise and knowledge are needed widely in themes related to digitalisation. Where do companies find new world-class experts who can combine requirements for sustainable development, superior customer experience, digitalisation, and internationalisation? Business-oriented cooperation serves as one answer to this need," says Minna Lappalainen, Director of the Jamk's institute of Bioeconomy.

The collaboration will begin by considering collaboration opportunities for agrology students starting their first year in the fall of 2022.

"In my opinion, this is a unique opportunity, and that's why I encourage students to apply to Jamk to study and gain a broad and versatile understanding of the latest technology and to be part of industry development," says Jani Oksanen, Valtra's Sales Engineer Specialist.
