Jamk fourth most popular UAS in autumn joint application

Jamk University of Applied Sciences was the fourth most popular University of Applied Sciences in terms of attraction in the autumn joint application period. The applicants were particularly interested in logistics and the business administration, which focuses on legal matters. Builder training, which returned to the Jamk's study offerings, also attracted primary applicants more than eight times the number of study places.

The joint application for autumn 2022 ended on Wednesday 14 September at 15.00. According to preliminary data, a total of 2,749 applications were submitted to Jamk's degree programmes. A total of 1,371 applicants were primarily applying to Jamk. In total, Jamk attracted primary applicants more than four times the starting places, which means that Jamk is the fourth most popular UAS in the autumn joint application. In particular, applicants were interested in the bachelor's degree programmes in logistics and business administration: the number of primary applicants for logistics studies was nearly 14 times higher and for business studies more than 12 times higher than the starting places.

With the joint application for the autumn, the long-awaited builder's training will also return to the Jamk's studies. Education is part of the increases outlined by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the educational responsibilities of higher education institutions, which are intended to meet societal competence needs. The need and attraction to the field was also reflected in the number of applicants for training: a total of 173 applicants applied primarily for training as a builder, which is more than eight times higher than the starting places.

*The combined number of applicants for degree programmes and the number of individual applicants differ, as some applicants have applied for more than one degree programme.

Approximately one-half of those who have applied for a bachelor's degree are selected by certificate selection and half by means of a bachelor's degree examination. An exception to this is the degree training of an engineer in electrical and automation engineering, where the selection is made on the basis of the admissions period. Read more (in Finnish).
