The partnership agreement to increase cooperation was signed by Jamk's Rector Vesa Saarikoski, Tero Kokkonen, Director of Institute of Information Technology, and Juha Kolehmainen, Partner in charge of Deloitte's continuous information security services.
With the partnership agreement, the cooperation between Jamk and Deloitte will be visible to students directly as thesis opportunities, internships, project studies assignments and a recruitment path for graduating students to Deloitte. In addition, the agreement strengthens cooperation opportunities in the promotion of cybersecurity and research projects.
"The partnership agreement is an excellent example of synergies between higher education and industry, enabling cooperation in several areas; education, RDI activities and service business. With the partnership agreement, we will be able to offer broader working life-oriented services to students while strengthening our networks and expertise in research, development and innovation," says Tero Kokkonen, Director of the Jamk's Institute of Information Technology.
"Deloitte wants to be involved in building a safer society. The current geopolitical situation and changes in threat scenarios over the past few years have at the latest shown that the need for cybersecurity professionals is growing rapidly. Through cooperation, we want to help meet the need and develop the skills of young professionals and stimulate interest in various cyber career opportunities," says Juha Kolehmainen, Partner at Deloitte Oy.
In order to implement partnership cooperation, a joint steering group has been set up between the parties responsible for drawing up and monitoring the implementation of the joint action plan.
