Valmet is willing to recruit future professionals in automation and mechanical engineering to grow into companies already during their studies. Internships, project assignments and theses create a ready-made career path to working life. The bridge after completion is natural as the company and its operating methods have become familiar. Valmet is in demand for such experts.

"In recent years, we have invested in people and competence development. Technology leadership and well-being at work require constant attention, planning and measures. Skilled future top talents will not be born overnight, which is why it is important to build different paths for new employees. Partnership with Jamk's is an important part of this work," says Jari Matilainen, Head of Automation at Valmet's Cardboard and Paper Machines business unit.

"We want to be close to the educational institution and students so that we can tell about the needs of our business, how students' studies are linked to everyday life and to learn about technology renewal from the perspective of educational institutions. In the future, we will recruit several people, experienced and early in their careers, for various tasks in automation and mechanics."

Jamk has been cooperating with Valmet for a long time. Networking and a positive vibe also create an image for students of a workplace where they want to invest in people and skills. Systematic work rewards all parties; There are already 200 Valmetians who have graduated from Jamk!

"Regular dialogue with companies is particularly important. We want to be a showcase for the future and also highlight the hard points of research and development, such as manufacturing that increases the substance. The latest knowledge and skills of the business community are available to our students. It is important to share up-to-date information on both sides," says Sami Kantanen, Head of Department of Jamk.
