JAMK limits campus opening hours for next two weeks

JAMK University of Applied Sciences has decided to limit the opening hours of the campuses, because Jyväskylä has moved from the acceleration phase of the corona to the spreading phase of the corona. Distance learning and telework will continue as before. Student services is available as e-service only.

After Jyväskylä has shifted to the spreading phase of the corona virus, JAMK University of Applied Sciences has decided to limit the opening hours of all campuses for two weeks. The campuses are open Mon-Fri from 8 am to 4 pm until 15 February, 2021. On Saturdays, campuses are closed. The changes affect the Library's opening hours as well.

JAMK has already switched to distance learning in accordance with the recommendations of the City of Jyväskylä. The city's extensive telework recommendation issued on Sunday, January 31, 2021 is also applied, for example, by arranging student services and international services only as e-services.

– The decisions made now are aimed at minimising the need for both staff and students to come to campuses. In this situation, there is no reason to come to campuses unless it is absolutely necessary, says Mikko R. Salminen, JAMK's Director of Administration.

The campuses of JAMK University of Applied Sciences still have a recommendation to use a face mask. Everyone should take care of good hand hygiene and adequate safety distances. Campuses can be entered only when healthy and only if it is necessary. For example, group work on campuses is not recommended during the deteriorated corona situation.

JAMK monitors the situation on a daily basis and makes changes to the guidelines if necessary.
