JAMK's spring semester begins in distance learning

JAMK University of Applied Sciences will start the spring semester in January 2021 in distance learning mode, with a few exceptions.

JAMK switched to distance learning on 30 November due to the deteriorating corona situation. In accordance with the recommendation given by the City of Jyväskylä. At that time, a decision was already made proactively to switch to distance learning until the end of the year. JAMK has now decided that the remote practice will be continued after the turn of the year.

Exams and the teaching of those with special needs are an exception to the remote practice. Individual teaching in music, for example, as well as special small group teaching can also be implemented as contact teaching. Agrology students studying at the Saarijärvi Tarvaala campus continue in contact teaching, where applicable. Safety is taken into account in all contact teaching situations.

JAMK's campuses are closed during the Christmas break (24 Dec 2020 - 3 Jan 2021, music campus 30 Dec 2020 - 3 Jan 2021). Otherwise, the campus opening hours or movement on campuses will not be restricted further than the current guidelines do. Safety distances and good hand hygiene are maintained on campuses. The face mask recommendation on campuses is also in effect.

JAMK monitors the corona situation and its effects. Teaching guidelines will be taken into consideration in January 2021, if necessary.
