The School of Health and Social Studies of JAMK University of Applied Sciences was awarded nearly 840 000 euros through Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education (CBHE) for the years 2019-2022. According to Programme Coordinator, Ms Marjo Palovaara, GeNEdu aims to renew nursing curricula through building capacities of the Chinese higher education institutions to develop gerontological nursing education for future health care professionals to meet the needs of the ageing society in China.

The GeNEdu project consortium, in addition to JAMK, includes two other European higher education institutions, Hanze University of Applied Sciences (HANZE) from the Netherlands and Tartu Health Care College (THCC) from Estonia. Chinese partners of the project include Beihua University (BH), Guangdong Medical University (GDMU) and Guangzhou Health Science College (GHSC). GeNEdu project implementation, starting in autumn 2019, continues the strategic cooperation developed with the Chinese higher education institutions since 2013.
