Researching, developing and learning at RehaLab
Continuously developing RehaLab is a research, development and learning environment with modern rehabilitation technology located at Jamk's Lutakko Campus, Piippukatu 2 (room D404).
We utilise digital technology and artificial intelligence in educating rehabilitation professionals.
Towards modern rehabilitation!
We have a good variety of systems and applications to support and measure rehabilitation which we utilise as a part of education and research and development activities, as well as innovation and partnerships. Please find some examples of our modern rehabilitation technology.
Magic Carpet
Magic carpet is an interactive projection system that allows you to project games and activities which reacts to movement.
The magic floor contains a wide range of stimulating contents that can be use for play, learning, therapy, multisensory research, and relaxation.
You can use Magic carpet on the floor, on a wheelchair table and on the table.
Kiosk Trainer - 24/7 training station
Kiosk Trainer is a motion sensor based software which monitors and visualizes client exercise, allowing 24/7 virtually controlled independent training.
Kiosk Trainer provides virtual guidance for training and rehabilitation without the presence of a Physiotherapist. It also measures and analyses the quality and progress of the training.
PODOSmart - digital soles
PODOSmart digital soles are designed for a precise gait analysis and diagnosis. Digital soles will be put in the shoes of an Examinee to gather information of the things effecting on the biomechanics of walking.
The application of PODOSmart sends the data directly to the web interface and clearly visualises the results of the Examinee. With the help of the application, it is easy to analyse the results and monitor the progress. The analysis helps to recognise models of movement and fault positions.
TE3 Mobiility Training Stick
TE3 is a modern mobility training stick to measure and evaluate extensions of body movement with the support of digital technology.
The vibrating features of the TE3 stick help to understand and practice control, symmetry and range of motion of the body joint. A quick screening makes the customer aware of the issues and gives out the tips of key training moves for relief and improvement.
RehabWall - gamified rehabilitation technology
RehabWall brings gamification for advancing of motor and process skills. It also supports the readiness of cognitive and sensor skills and advances functioning ability.
RehabWall is a versatile setup which utilises Virtual Reality glasses, a balance board, a touch screen and a motion sensor.
RehabWall is intended as a tool for multi-professional rehabilitation to enable rehabilitation in virtual environments and to activate different physical activities through gamification.
Mototiles
Mototiles can be used to gamify training of basic motor skills, body balance and stepping of people in different age. Each Moto tile can sense pressure, and has 8 lights that can shine up in all colors of the rainbow.
With the versatile training programmes, rehabilitation can be gamified by the means of e.g. memory game, voice recognition and piano playing.
Ralla 2.0 application
RALLA 2.0 application supports the observation and reporting of child's skills.
The application helps to get the observations you make in everyday life about your child's play and peer interaction skills analyzed and print ready-made reports to facilitate pedagogical documentation.
With the RALLA app, you develop your observation skills and identify observable strengths in play and peer interaction as well as potential learning challenges. With the help of systematic work, you will also find tips for strengthening skills and group activities of children.
