Students and a group work

Please follow these instructions and notice the important dates

1. Accept the study place

You can accept the study place online on www.studyinfo.fi:

  1. If you have Finnish banking codes you can accept the study place at studyinfo.fi. Just click “Go to My Studyinfo” to sign in with your banking codes to accept the study place and enrol as a student. The final deadline to accept the study place is 10 July 2025 at 3.00 p.m, otherwise the study place is cancelled.
  2. If you do not have the Finnish National Identification Number you received an automatic email when the results were published, thus, you are able to enter studyinfo.fi via a link that you received in the email and accept the study place.
  3. If there are any problems or you cannot enter studyinfo.fi (you do not have the banking codes or you did not receive the email mentioned above), please contact the Student Services as soon as possible (studentservices(at)jamk.fi). We can provide you a document which allows you to accept the study place via paper document.

One study place per academic term

You can accept only one study place per academic term. Accepting a study place is a binding choice that cannot be cancelled or changed later. You cannot be accepted to other programmes starting in the same academic term after you have accepted a study place.

Academic term means time between 1.8.-31.12. OR 1.1.-31.7.

Quotas for first-time applicants

The higher education institutions in Finland have to reserve some of the study places for those applicants who do not hold a higher education qualification or a higher education study place in Finland. However, degree programmes provided in English do not have to use quotas for first-time applicants.

2. Enroll for Attendance / Non-attendance

After you have accepted the study place you must enroll for attendance (=attending) or non-attendance (=absent) by 10 July 2025 at 3.00 p.m on Studyinfo.fi. Only those enrolled for attendance have the right to register for courses and pursue the studies.

If you are going to enroll for non-attendance, you need to provide a document that states a valid reason. The document must be submitted for Jamk Student Services by 10 July 2025 at 3.00 p.m.

If you do NOT enroll for attendance or non-attendance you will lose the study entitlement.

Note, in case you need to pay tuition fees (you are not an EU citizen and do not hold one of the exempting documents, such as a permanent residence in Finland), then you cannot enroll as a student before you have paid the tuition fee. Please check more information about the tuition fees below.

3. Checking the application documents

If you have completed open studies at another Finnish open UAS or university, you have already submitted a copy of your transcript of records to your Open Study Path application by 22 May 2025 by 3.00 p.m.

The required studies completed at Jamk's Open UAS must be registered at Peppi by 20 July 2025. You do not need to submit transcript of records of studies completed at Jamk's Open UAS.

Master's degree students: You have attached the copies of your certificates (bachelor's degree certificate and work certificates) to the application during the application period.

Be prepared to present the original degree and work certificates at the Student Services in the beginning of your studies, if requested. If you fail to submit copies of your certificates or do not present the original certificates if requested or have given false or insufficient information concerning your certificates, your study place will be revoked.

4. Tuition fees / exemption of tuition fees

The tuition fees for NON-EU/EEA students who will start their studies after 1 August 2025 is 10 000€/academic year for bachelor's degrees taught in English and 12 000€/academic year for master's degrees taught in English.

There are NO tuition fees for Finnish or other EU/EEA-citizens.

Before paying the tuition fee, please read the full instructions and rules of the tuition fees and scholarships from the links below. Please note that by paying the tuition fee, the student commits to the rules for tuition fee and scholarship system of Jamk.

The admission of the student is conditional until the tuition fee is paid and Jamk has received a confirmation of the payment. After we have received your payment, you are able to enroll as an attending student and you will receive a receipt of the payment (this may take a few banking days). You need the receipt for the residence permit process.

Please pay the tuition fee as soon as possible to start the residence permit application process immediately, and to be able to start your studies on August 2025. The final deadline for paying the invoice of the tuition fee is on 10 July 2025.

5. Jamk username

Your study entitlement begins as a degree student in the beginning of the academic term.

If you have completed your open UAS studies at Jamk and you have an active study entitlement, your username do not change. New username is created if your previous user name is expired.

If you do not have active user name Jamk, read the Jamk network usage rules and instructions to active a username.

If you don't have Finnish bank codes, you will get separate instructions to verify your identity by Candour ID app. After successful identity verification, Jamk Student Services will send you the Jamk username by email.

You need the username for accessing to Elmo intranet. On Elmo, you can find new student’s site that includes information on important dates, times and places. Add Elmo to your bookmarks to see e.g. student news, events, and internships and job opportunities for students!

6. Enrollment for courses as a degree student

Please enroll as a degree student for courses, do not use your study entitlement for Jamk Open UAS.

You will receive more information about the course enrollment from your tutor teacher in the beginning of studies.

7. Accreditation of the courses completed at Jamk Open UAS

The Open UAS Studies completed at Jamk Open UAS are transferred to your new transcript of records by Student Services during the beginning of the semester. In case you have completed Open Studies at other UAS, please discuss about the accreditation of the courses with your tutor teacher in the beginning of studies. There is no need to apply accreditation in eRPL.
