Entrepreneurship refers to the establishment of an enterprise and working as entrepreneur, but it also encompasses a positive attitude and commitment also when employed by others. An entrepreneurial person thinks and acts creatively, courageously and innovatively, as well as promoting the profitability of the organisation and mastering cooperation skills.

If you are interested in entrepreneurship and would like to develop your own entrepreneurship skills, Dreams+Inspiration! course could suit you! During the course, you get to think about how you could make better use of your own skills and what kind of opportunities modern working life could offer you.

JES Stage is an event organized by the Jyväskylä Entrepreneurship Society (JES), where you can get perspectives on entrepreneurship. JES also organizes various workshops related to entrepreneurship and working life, where you can come and learn new skills from professionals in the field.

Spotlight is a student event held every autumn that brings together students interested in entrepreneurship and developing their own skills.

IDEA JKL and Discovery Tuesday are suitable for you if you want to try entrepreneurship in a good group and get sparring from experienced experts.
- KS Business Idea regularly organises free idea workshops and self-employment information sessions. Idea workshops refine your own business idea further. The participants of the idea workshop will receive tools for productization, testing demand and studying market potential. The self-employment information provides you with basic information on various self-employment options, such as light entrepreneurship and obtaining a business ID. - The product development funding from The Startup Factory aims to inspire students, researchers, and staff at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and University of Jyväskylä to create and test new products and services. Read more and apply

Idea-to-Business coaching (5 ECTS) is a coaching program offered by the Startup Factory, where you develop your business idea towards establishing a company. Several coaching sessions start throughout the year. The coaching is free of charge, and you can include it in your studies. Read more!
- As a Jamk student, alumnus, or staff member, you can apply for Turbine microfunding €2,000 - €4,000). This financing can be used for product development as well as for starting and developing a business. Read more and apply!
I have a business / I am starting a business
- As a Jamk student, you can receive €300 in support for student entrepreneurship from the Turbine Fund for the academic year 2023 - 2024 for starting your own company. Read more and apply!
- Entrepreneurship Coaching (8 ECTS) is a year-long, personalized coaching program requiring a business registration number. The coaching is free, and you can include it in your studies. Read more about Business Coaching!

If your company is aiming for profitable growth either domestically or internationally, you should familiarize yourself with the following coaching and funding opportunities:
- Startup Factory's financing coaching is intended for all businesses and business idea teams in the Jyväskylä region aiming for growth, seeking additional information on financing options, and preparing for funding rounds. To facilitate the funding application process, Startup Factory offers free Financing Coaching. Participation in other Startup Factory programs or incubation processes is not a prerequisite for the Financing Coaching

- Jamk Turbine Fund invests in growth-oriented limited liability companies owned by Jamk students, alumni, or staff members.
The company must have a business plan with sufficient financial forecasts. The business plan should also consider the principles of responsible business.
There are three investment categories:
- €5,000 (in exchange for 10% ownership)
- €10,000 (in exchange for 10% ownership)

€30,000 (Valuation on a case-by-case basis)

Incubator provides customized coaching for companies, focusing on business and entrepreneurial development, aiming for growth and international expansion. It is designed for teams with a scalable product or service idea and a strong desire to expand. Annually, we select and admit 12 of the most promising companies to participate in the incubator.
