The year 2023 has been harvest time in the project. Modules, study units and related materials as well as matters related to teaching practice have been developed.

In connection with modules, study units and related materials, workshops and training days have been organized for different target groups: student teachers, university personnel and secondary school teachers and management of educational institutions. The student teachers have piloted the modules and given feedback for improvement of them. In total, 276 student teachers have been involved in the module development. Typically, the piloting sessions have lasted 2-4 hours at a time.

Knowing that there is a huge need for in-service training, the project produces materials for self-studying and to use in different trainings for in-service teachers. From July till November, the key experts of UP and ISET-OW have organised training days for the secondary school teachers and school managers. At the beginning of October, 240 secondary school teachers participated in training days. When talking with the teachers, they said that this is the first time they get this type of training.

In the picture above are the key experts from UP and ISET-OW, Sansão Timbane, Hafsah Luis and Guilherme Basílio, who are leading the training process.

In addition, the university teachers supervising the teacher students’ teaching practice participated in the training. The idea of training was to work on what is their role in facilitating teacher students’ learning while they are practising in schools. About 80 teacher educators joined in the training.

Furthermore, it has been important to train the teacher educators from different faculties on the contents of the modules.  The internal training is necessary for increasing and widening understanding about the modules, their use in different programmes and possibilities they offer in different faculties.
