A graduate of the degree programme in Professional Project Management has extensive knowledge in project management and is able to utilise project management methods and tools. They understand the importance of people to the success of a project and can lead people as a superior, project manager, and project portfolio manager taking into account the company's strategy. The person can apply the acquired skills in multidisciplinary projects in different roles and changing operating environments.

It is possible to build a unique, personal study path in many different ways: the studification of work, the extensive use of master-level courses in Jamk's other Master's degrees, EduFutura, Enterprise Factory, Future Factory, and other universities and universities of applied sciences. Studies may include competence already completed or acquired elsewhere through inclusion or the identification and recognition of previously acquired competence.
The studies are carried out as contact or online studies and students can choose the option that suits them best. Both options include, for example, independent and team-based studies, lectures, presentations, and seminars.
The studies consist of common courses at Jamk Master School of Management, expert studies in the degree programme, and complementary studies that support the student's learning and career goals. The thesis focuses on expert core competence.
The learning tasks included in the courses are recommended to be adapted to one’s own work and work community. Many work community development activities can also used as learning exercises and projects to be designed, refined and solved during your studies.

Master’s Thesis
The Master's thesis is generally a development project in working life and gets 30 credits. Thus, half of the studies consist of a thesis. Through the thesis, it is possible to develop your own skills and take career goals in the direction you want.
The thesis is a research and development project that constructively develops an organisation's operations, realizes something new and produces new solutions and development. The thesis can also be focused on activities other than the current one or your own work tasks or organisation, in which case it is possible to gain expertise in new types of work tasks or competence in a new field. Thus, the training is also well-suited for those who dream of a career change.

The Degree Programme in Professional Project Management is intended for individuals with a bachelor's level degree in engineering in the field of technology, who want to broaden their capabilities in project planning, management and leadership roles.

The aim of the studies is to deepen your knowledge in different areas of project management. The graduate of the programme can work as a professional project developer in demanding expert and managerial positions, such as project manager, project portfolio manager or director.

In the Defence Forces, the degree of technical engineer required for certain specialist officer positions is obtained with a Master's degree in Engineering.
