Project experts share their insights, experiences and professional development on the Theory-Practice Balance in Teacher Education - the TEPATE Project. 

TEPATE project has been implemented from 2020 to 2024, and in August 2024 the development work was reaching a successful conclusion. 

Hafsah Muhammad - teacher educator & key expert

Hafsah Muhammad is a teacher educator at ISET-OW, Mozambique. In TEPATE project she works as a key expert concentrating on the development of the modules. The interview where Hafsah shares her experiences and professional development in TEPATE, took place at the end of the project. Hafsah discusses the student-centeredness and active pedagogies as her take-away in the project. 

Thomas Hoejmark - key expert & Project Board member

Thomas Hoejmark works as the Director of the Development Department at ISET-OW, Mozambique. He plays an important role in the TEPATE project as a key expert and a member of the Project Board. Thomas Hoejmark particularly developed the module “Teacher as an Agent of Change.” At the end of the project, Thomas pointed out many lessons learned. He considers the fundamental aspect of the project to be the immense importance of practice. 

Insights about collaboration by Alberto Boane

Alberto Boane from the Pedagogical University of Maputo is working as a key expert in the TIPOTE project, which continues the work done in TEPATE. In the TIPOTE project, Alberto develops the ideas and practices of Inclusive STEM as a member of the development team. In a video recorded at the university in the TEPATE room, Alberto shares his insights about collaboration between higher education institutions and how it benefits the Pedagogical University of Maputo.
