Gaming fun and digital skills in Central Finland

kaksi animoitua vanhaa henkilöä pelaa virtuaalilasit päässään videopeliä

What skills are needed to keep up in a digitalizing society? What constitutes adequate digital skills? How do we consider those who, for various reasons, cannot engage in electronic services? What kind of digital support is offered in Central Finland, and who is responsible for organizing it? Could digital gaming be used to engage the elderly with digital technology and overcome the resistance of digital skeptics?
We are seeking solutions to all these questions in the Digibuusti! project – welcome to join us!

Digibuusti! – Game Fun and Digital Skills in Central Finland project (1.3.2024–31.8.2026) aims to enhance the digital competence of the aging rural population, promote a positive attitude towards digitalization, and provide information on the potential of gaming and gamification in learning digital skills. Additionally, the project aims to ensure the availability of digital support in the municipalities of Central Finland, thereby increasing the well-being and equality of residents. The project is implemented by JAMK University of Applied Sciences and Jyväskylä Summer University, funded by the Central Finland ELY Centre through the Rural Development Fund.
